BLOOD THAT SPEAKETH BETTER THINGS (7)

(…continues from part 6)

7)            Let us look at the veil. The first time of its mention is in Exodus 26:31 “And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:” and verse 33 reads: “And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.” Now the Hebrew word for ‘vail’ is pôreketh (po-reh’-keth): ‘curtain, veil; a separatrix, that is, (the sacred) screen.’ Grammatically, the pôreketh is a noun feminine active participle of perek (peh’-rek): ‘break apart i.e. fracture; cruelty’. The sinfulness of the Adamic creation is a horrid putrefaction separating God from man.

In order not to bring the judgment of destruction upon the creation of His hand, the good LORD designed a protective barrier that actively ward off His anger, which we deserve, from Adam. What a God of mercy He is! He did the same for the wandering Israel in the wilderness when He instructed Moses: “And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:” (Exodus 19:12).

“…and thou shalt see my back parts…” (Exodus 33:23).

A more classically dramatic show of God’s stance of the compassionate bulwark came alive when He said to Moses’ request of beholding the full glory of Jehovah. Exodus 33:20-23 “And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21) And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22) And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23) And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.” God said, “…and will cover thee with my hand…” and ‘cover’ is śâkak (saw-kak’): ‘to block, overshadow, screen, stop the approach, shut off, cover;’ serving the same purpose of the temple curtain.

Why did God not tell Moses to use his own hand to cover his eyes, and to ensure its tight closeness? God Himself provided the holy palm of His eternal hand for the protection of Moses. What a caring God our Jehovah is! In the face of man’s continual perpetration of ostracizing sinfulness, the paternal benevolence of the Creator shielded the worshipers of God from the destructive desideration of Satanism. He knew that He was going to put the spiritual mechanism of eternal salvation in motion, but in the interim, we needed to be safe. The veil was so immense that the artistry wrought of its cubical design covered the entrance of the holy of holies. It was quite different from the vengeful design of Abel’s anger.

Abel’s would not cover his brother’s sin going by God’s condemnable remark of Genesis 4:10 “And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.” The viciousness that spilled the blood of Abel was such a grief that it failed to enable an affordability of a kind forgiveness. The evil deed of Cain, as far as Abel’s blood was concerned, must not be unpunished. It is in every conceivable way different from salvific flow of Jesus.

At the substitutionary death of Jesus the mighty veil had accomplished its existence. His death sprinkled the propitiatory blood of eternal salvation, giving us an unbelievable access to the most holy presence of God, hitherto, inaccessible. Every born again Christian, by the virtue of the shed blood, has been officially ordained a priest and more than the high priest, has access to the presence of God as several times as we decide to come before Him, which is, and which was, and which is to come. Amen. The blood of Jesus Christ speaks better things.

His blood speaketh better things

Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. Say this sinner’s prayer.

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”

BLOOD THAT SPEAKETH BETTER THINGS (6)

(…continues from part 5)

6)            Hebrews 7:22 “By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.” What makes this new order of divine protocol much better is the fact that, all through the Mosaic years of Judaistic priesthood none had Jehovah’s direct interposition; the Mosaic legality put Adamic priesthood in office. On an inaugural moment of celestial assemblage before the Majesty, God the Father swore by an oath, which none other ever received, which the Holy Spirit enabled Divine eavesdrop to David in Psalm 110:4 “The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.” This is the proof of the superiority and the ineluctability of the Priesthood of our Great Shepherd. Coming from the lips of the Most High God engenders the immutability of this Priesthood, who has come to give us life and life more abundantly.

Hebrews 8:6-7 6) “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7) For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.” For our sake, most definitely, should a second be sought for; and why? The bulls, goats, rams and lambs, after engendering our pardon, died. Another animal of immolation was required to enable a guiltless stand before the thrice holy God after another wrong doing! Every minute of Judaism an element of immolation falls, the victim in substitution for the life the sacrificant. Such horrendous sanguinity those days of animal atonement were. Nowadays of the unveiling of the grace of God to all mankind 1John1:9 settles the sinning issues for the born again Christian! Praise the Lord!

Hebrews 13:20-21 “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21) Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” By dying blood must flow. The blood engenders the everlasting covenant. And this is one of the reasons why from His mouth come better things than that of Abel; it is found in 1Timothy 2:5-6 5) “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6) Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

In the 16th chapter of Prophet Ezekiel’s Book also has, “Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.” Is there any smidgeon of doubt concerning the good reason why He will remember His covenant with Israel, and why it must be an everlasting testament? The blood had, from eternity past, spoken better things into the yet to be created best of creationism specimen of beings, the Adamic reality of elevation. Israel had a mentioning from Genesis chapter three (fig tree). It says somewhere, “First to the Jews, then to the Gentiles.” These days of grace the true Israel is the born again Christian, upon whom is the divine lavishness of the Golgotha salvific blood. For the sake of the blood, of eternality is the remembrance of the covenant. We do not live by the letter of the law again, as recipients of divine grace; the law requires another killing of a sacrificial lamb. The death, resurrection, ascension and the culmination of the session of Jesus continues to propitiate by the reason of Him being our perpetual High Priest. 2Corinthians 3:6 “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

1John 5:6, “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.” By ‘this is he’ is meant Jesus, the Son of God of verse five. Water is emblematic of the Holy Spirit. The Jordan baptism, where the Holy Spirit descended on Him, was the beginning of His ministry. He, therefore, came with water to commence His Messianic office. The Eternal Father spoke audibly to avouch the Incarnation of the Second Member of the Godhead. The gory, Golgotha atonement is the culmination of His Messianic consummation.

“…the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground” (Gen 4:10).

(…continues from part 4)

5)            In His eternal blood, we should not expect anything short of better things. This proof of Him, the Christ, being the True Initiator of the Old Testamentary order is here receiving an indubitable accentuation at the Last Supper, as captured by direct revelation from the Lord Jesus Himself, in this Pauline couch of 1Corinthians 11:23-27. It reads, “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:24) And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25) After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26) For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. 27) Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.” It was not a mere ‘take’ of Pauline couch in verse 24 as instructed by the Lord, the taking from His hand has a far-reaching eternal consequence.

It took Israel way back to the paschal their forefathers ate before the LORD God in Egypt. There the element of divine protection was the flesh of lamb; here at the Last Supper, His very blood was the reenactment of the testament or ‘covenant’. He stretched His eternal hand to them; the true believing disciples who accepted His gift of covenantal salvation and consequently received eternal protection from His hand of eternality just as the antediluvian Adam, Enoch, Methuselah, Abel and Noah did. Judas Iscariot, whose faith was a deviation from the Truth received from the Hand that would accuse and send him to hell. Of truth is the Scriptural “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

Jesus did not only instruct the taking of the communion, He commanded Its taking in remembrance of Him. What, I need to ask, is the difference between “taking in remembrance of me” and the spiritual legality of “thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, thought, mind and strength”? Does it not say, “That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him” (John 5:23). It is also an asseveratory understanding in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” God the Father and His Christ are one and the same Jehovah. Remember He stated unequivocally, “I and my Father are one” where ‘one’, heis (hice) is a neuter not Persons: ‘essence’

The Son and the Father are not two different natured individual Persons, in this context. They have the same essence! Amen. He that established the first covenant did reestablished it, that in all things Jesus must take preeminence (Colossians 1:18).

Jesus, whose blood speaketh better things, is the new theory, path and lingo. I have continually taught mathematics as a primary school teacher and I understand experientially that without any knowledge of the theorem, which must have logical step by step solvent calculation, it, conclusively, is impossible to solve a scientific problem. Without Jesus, the new and the living way, there is, absolutely, no way by which any created being can deal with the sin question, which ultimately herds Christians to the eternal bliss of heaven. Hebrews 10:20 “By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;” and this takes us to the Jerusalem which has two curtains, katapetasma (kat-ap-et’-as-mah), one is placed at the entrance to the second compartment, where the priests carry out their official duties – separating it from the outer court i.e. the first compartment – and a second one is at the entrance of the Holy of Holies – the third compartment.

Jesus, the Bible says, veils the Holy of Holies, which is entranced only once a year and by none other than the High Priest, who must go through Christ if the entire land of Israel must be forgiven their sins for that year. The high priest must have blood in his hand before he could access the Holy of Holies, where the Holy Spirit is seated between the two cherubs, or else he would die instantly: for His blood – the secret code of admittance – speaketh better things than that of Abel. Christ Jesus, whose Person is the entrance to the presence of God, is the Initiator and the Living Way.

BLOOD THAT SPEAKETH BETTER THINGS (4)

Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood

(…continues from part 3)

4)            Let us look at the momentousness of the blood from the divine lips of Jesus. John 6:53-61 53) “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54) Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55) For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56) He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57) As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58) This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. 59) These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60) Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61) When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?”

Was the good LORD dwelling on or teaching sanguineous bestiality of cannibalism? This is strictly an issue of spiritual facticity. “For all have sinned” is the necessitation of the phenomenal corollary of the providential blood. The enemy, the Devil, has successfully dulled the thought realm of Israel and is unable to come to spiritual terms with her Jehovah God, therefore, an unexpected departure from the Truth. John 6:66-70 66) “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67) Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68) Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. 69) And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. 70) Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

Thanksgiving is appropriately to be given to the Most High for the inevitable few remnants who never fail to follow Jesus. Peter is the Greek petros meaning: ‘a small stone.’ This petros is the Almighty Builder’s material of the construction of God’s house, the Church. It was important that the type of the Christian, Peter, should be the one to answer the question of Jesus on behalf of the Church. Now what we read in Matthew 26:28 and Mark 14:24 are the fulfilment of God’s word.

Jeremiah 31:31-33 31) “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32) Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33) But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

1Peter 1:2 “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.” The word ‘sprinkling’ which is rhantismos (hran-tis-mos’) is strictly a New Testament coinage aimed at portraying the purification ceremony, perfected by the Perfect Being, Jesus Christ. It means: ‘aspersion, drop or spread over i.e. appointed for sprinkling (serving to purify) ceremonially.’ Sprinkling of the blood of Jesus is the only way of eternal salvation. All the Old Testament sacrificial rites were types and shadows of the ultimate sacrifice and the official inauguration took place at the Last Supper when Jesus told the disciples “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matthew 26:28).

When He shed His blood Jesus did not remain dead like the sacrificial animals of old. This means that, the Living Witness to our redemption must be, and is properly the Testator of the eternally saved souls. Hebrews 9:15 “And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” No angel can enter into the mediatorial office of the Rainbow Administration of heaven. The Mediator of the Old Testament cannot be less of the Divinity. Christ, the Initiator of the Old Testament must of necessity be the One to take divine, initiatory office of salvific initiation. Hallelujah!

BLOOD THAT SPEAKETH BETTER THINGS (3)

The Blood of Adamic salvation

(…continues from part 2)

3)            It is important not to forget that when Adam ate from the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil, his first death was a spiritual one. It became a theological exigency for man to seek spiritual deliverance: for man could no longer live to celebrate his thousand birthday. This simply means that any man of Adamic progeny can fall down in death at any period of his shortened transiency. Death had gained an inroad into the life of Adam. Blood, in which life resides, must be providentially made available. God the Father will not come down: none deputizes for Him on the empyrean throne. The Holy Spirit does not make Himself an ocular phenomenality for the eyes of man. That leaves the Second Member of the Godhead, Christ Jesus, who walked through Eden every cool of the evening (Genesis 3:8). Two things of Eden transpiration established the sanguinary soteriology. God used the blood of two sinless, quadrupedal animals to bring them back to spiritual relevance before His holy presence.

Four is the Scriptural number for creation because on day four God created lights of illumination. The footprints of each element of sacrifice comes to a total of eight, which stands for ‘new beginning’. Right there in the Garden of Eden, the blood that would speak better things than that of Abel became the first gospel of the redemptive blood that would be shed on the cross of Calvary, when the Bible records, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15). As far as divine counsel was concerned, the blood had spoken long before Adamic presence became a reality on terra firma.

What is the difference between Abel’s sacrificial crimson life flow and the blood that speaketh better things? It cannot receive any tag of quantifiable calculation. The difference cannot be likened to what hits your ocular experience when comparison places a smidgeon of droplet of blood and a whole ocean of blood flow. The blood of better speech, being the blood “which is, and which was, and which is to come,” is by far richer, and better; it is redemptive. The true difference between the shed blood of Abel and that of Jesus Christ is exactly the difference between a day and eternity. It is fathomless in scope, swallowing up the immenseness of the horizon, abysmal in depth, awesome in height and incalculably mind blowing is its eternal broadness. The blood that speaketh better things is the divine blood: God’s blood. Selah! And that is why it happens to be eternally inexhaustible.

The blood had stood continually as the covenantal witness between God and man. Why would Abraham be made to perform sacrificial rites, which culminated in “Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of” (Genesis 22:2)? This verse eliminates any doubt of the inevitability of Jesus Christ going to the cross to lavish the divine blood of propitiation on the elect lady of divine endearment.

“When  I see the blood, I will pass over you” (Exodus 12:13)

The blood certainly keeps us out of the danger of annihilation. The Lord’s anger rose against Egypt. The first born of Pharaoh’s Egypt had been sentenced to death to punish the king’s disobedience. To save Israel, God’s first born, blood must turn the angel of destruction away from the redeemed. Exodus 12:23 “For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.”

The blood sealed Jehovah’s covenant with Israel Exodus 24:6 “And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.” Exodus 24:8 “And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.” Hebrews 9:19-20 19) “For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, 20) Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.”

“Come unto me, all ye that labour….and I will give you rest.”

Isaiah 55:3 which says, “Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David;” is quite prophetic. Once upon a time in Matthew 11:28, Jesus gave the mand of, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” It has always been the essence of the blood: rest. Rest from untimely death was what the Eden ram sacrifice gave to the nascency of Adam’s family at the commission of the original sin. That which Noah offered to God in Genesis 8:20 was a thanksgiving. It requires talking to God in a show of gratitude. When we pray, do we not conclude with, “in the name of Jesus?” Noah’s gratitude spilled the blood of clean sacrificial animals, representative of Jesus. Amen!

BLOOD THAT SPEAKETH BETTER THINGS (2)

(…continues from part 1)

2)            Looking at Hebrews 12:24 contextually, it is not the blood of a dead or dying Abel that cries in this verse; it is the crimson fluid from the sacrifice of Abel which appealed to the Divinity that spoke words of agreement to the mind of God, this Pauline script is actually of this didacticism. Abel’s sacrifice was accepted by the divine nostrils of the One which is, and which was, and which is to come. It was only good for that material time of its performance. It did just remit the shortcoming of Abel’s error for that time only. It could not even rectify his brother, Cain’s, aberrant use of the wrong element of sacrifice. Abel’s shedding of the lamb’s blood was good for remission of sin. It brought peace, from God, back to otherwise lost soul. But in comparison, the shed blood of the Golgotha from the earthly body of Jesus Christ cleansed Adam of the original sin. The superiority of the divine blood of Jesus washed away as many as would come to Him for salvation.

Abel’s sacrifice was a type and shadow of better deal of the Divinity intended to take care of man’s salvation once and forever. The sprinkled fluid of crimson hue that poured forth from Abel’s sacrificial element was pointing to a future phenomenon when the Saviour would cry out, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). As Abel was killed, being innocent of Cain’s sentence, so was Christ, a sinless Person hanged on the cross.

His death is a substitutionary one; 1Peter 3:18 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” which reminds me of what one of the pupils I gave home tutoring, a very young Joshua Green. When I told him and his mother that the blood of Jesus saves all mankind, he pointed out to me, “This Jesus died more than two thousand years ago.” Wondering, his observation prompted the question, “how can that same blood still cleanse us in this twenty-first century?” “Thought provoking,” I admitted, especially from a seven years old lad. The answer is quite simple. “It is a spiritual matter. The new birth is midwifed by the Holy Spirit Himself. One becomes God’s child not through biological process of procreation; it happens through the miraculous creation of a new man in Christ Jesus.” It becomes truly understandable that His blood speaks better things than the blood of Abel. Amen.

                       My blood: New Testament

Jesus made it clear that He is more than a mere saviour; that He is truly Jehovah God. John 15:5-7 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” The bottom line, in this verse, is that for without me ye can do nothing” and only God makes such asseveration and will never be found dwelling in the error of blasphemy.

Author of the New Testament

Matthew 26:27-28 “And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28) For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” And a new covenant was established to erase the Adamic annihilating sinfulness, one sacrifice for all mankind and for all sins. Amen. Hebrews 9:22 “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” What is the word ‘remission’? It is aphesis (a’-fe-sis): ‘1. a removal. 2. (figuratively) a pardon, a release (from guilt and penalty).’ When Abel performed his sacrifice, it was the blood of a domesticated quadruped animal. Hanging on the cross of Calvary, the Lord God shed His salvific blood. Praise the Lord!
