Righteousness (1)

The LORD Jesus, our righteousness.

1)            Led, avidly, by Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, founder and the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, many other churches treat righteousness and holiness as the two-in-one vehicle that takes one to heaven, making it the main Christian focal point. Huge mistake. Jesus is the knowledge and deed that opens the gates of heaven, leading to eternal peace. The scriptural understanding of these churches is that you must continue to lead a personal righteous and life of holiness to gain entrance into heavenly bliss. What, therefore, is righteousness? What is holiness? How are these dyadic virtues of Divinity attainable?

“By the things we constantly do,” the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, will most definitely asseverate. This is the clearest indication of the fact that it is by works. Works? Nay! Let us understand how righteousness is attained from the Pauline extrapolative didacticism of Romans 4:2-4, 2) “For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3) For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.” The word ‘righteousness’ is dikaiosunē which is ‘justification’, by definition. Abraham received ‘justification’ by faith and not by works. Is it not a scriptural foregone conclusiveness of Isaiah 64:6 that ‘all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags’? The Hebrew for ‘righteousnesses’ is tsedâqâh (tsed-aw-kaw’) ‘rightness (abstractly), subjectively (rectitude), objectively (justice), morally (virtue) or figuratively (prosperity).’ The legality of the terms and conditions of one’s justification before the thrice holy Jehovah is the application of faith.

If it is by works, then, God has entered into indebtedness soteriologically speaking. Will God owe anyone? The Divinity does not owe anybody, can never owe anybody. Soteriology is strictly by faith, lest any should boast. Amen.

If the Lord, who is ‘our righteousness’ in Jeremiah 23:6, is also ‘our life’ in Colossians 3:4, then my total exclusion in the acquired toga of righteousness is clearly stated in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Paul drives it home, crossing every ‘t’ and dotting every ‘i’ in the next verse, “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain” (Galatians 2:21). ‘Frustrate’ is the Greek atheteō (ath-et-eh’-o): ‘to set aside, that is, (by implication) to disesteem, neutralize or violate.’ The grace of God is the active ingredient that makes each one of our salvation, justification and sanctification a possibility. Righteousness comes with the total package of salvation. It is an inherent nature of the saved individual. It is not earned, it is an imputation.

God’s wondrous works

Zacharias pointed out the necessary outwardness of our piety, saying: “In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life” [Luke 1:75]. The reason for this show of the inherent ‘righteousness’ is simply that it is our duty to interpret righteousness for the beneficial digestion of what we are to their blind ocular perception. Our Christian lives are interpretation of the righteousness of Christ, our Dwelling. In Greek the word ‘holiness’ is hosiotēs (hos-ee-ot’-ace) ‘piety towards God, fidelity in observing the obligations of piety, holiness.’ From the heathen, with whom God had no spiritual transaction of any covenant, God expected no piety. To the Israel of His covenant, even before the parturition of the patriarchal twelve, God said, “….Be ye holy; for I am holy” [1Peter 1:16]; taken from Leviticus 11:44. God was careful not to say it to the Egyptian, Roman, Indian or Chinese. Only to one nation of Israel He had the covenant, ergo, Paul will often write, “First to the Jew then to the Gentiles.”

This cup is the New Testament in my blood

Soteriological attainment had to be modified by the original enactor when Jesus intimated, “the new covenant…” in Luke 22:20, “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” The Greek for ‘testament’ is diathēkē (dee-ath-ay’-kay): ‘properly a disposition, that is, (specifically) a contract (especially a devisory will); a compact, a covenant.’ The Greek diathēkē comes from diatithemai (dee-at-ith’-em-ahee) Thayer Definition: ‘1. to arrange, dispose of, one’s own affairs a. of something that belongs to one b. to dispose of by will, make a testament 2. to make a covenant, enter into a covenant, with one.’Strong’s Definition: ‘to put apart, that is, (figuratively) dispose (by assignment, compact or bequest).’ Man’s pious ritualism will not attain soteriology. If it had become God’s business, then it must be understood that only the Members of the Trinity are involved in the establishment, execution and maintenance of soteriological grace. “By grace; through faith, it says, not of work lest any man should boast” [Ephesians 2:8-9]. ‘Lest’ is the Greek hina me (hin’-ah may’) ‘in order (or so) that not.’ ‘Any man’ is tis (tis’) ‘some or any person or object;’ and ‘should boast’ is kauchaomai (kau-khah’-om-ai) ‘to vaunt.’

You can put on the righteousness of Jesus by getting born again. Say this simple prayer, meaning it from your heart:

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”

THE NEW SPIRITUAL SPECIES (two)

“…your life is hid with Christ in God” Colossians 3:3

(Continued from part one)

(2)          Not like the bulls, rams and lambs hitherto used in sacrificial exculpation, the expendability of which necessitated daily sanguinary butchered ritual for atonement, Jesus rose to live forever. That made the difference, soteriologically. At the pouring forth of the blood of the object of sacrifice in death, the sacrificant is absolved of the hanging judgment. The life of an innocent animal is exchanged for that of the sacrificing wrong doer. The dead animal is not recallable. When Jesus rose from the dead, the Eternal One, who is also the Holy One of Israel, came back from the dead to sniff out death from our essence. The Bible says, “we were quickened together with him:” for in so doing we rose never to die spiritually again, living as eternally as our Saviour, ‘who was, who is, and is to come. Amen!’ “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out.” How many sins were forgiven? The Book of Colossians’ answer is, “All!”

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jer. 23:6), “that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2Corinthians 5:21).

If the scriptural factuality is of 2Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new;” does it not follow that the regenerated soul of a Christian is a spiritually brand new man? This word ‘new’ is the Greek kainos (kahee-nos’): ‘new (especially in freshness).’ Paul did not use neos or neōteros (neh’-os): ‘new, recently born, young, youthful, properly so with respect to age.’ This freshness is located in the spiritual silo or refrigeration of the eternal Christ Jesus. The newness of this freshness, coming from the throne of the Eternal Father, is definitely eternal!

2cf6301780c97e3f66efaf58250e7fc4

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…”

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” [Romans 10:10]. The noun ‘righteousness’ is the Greek dikaiosunē (dik-ah-yos-oo’-nay): ‘a feminine noun which speaks specifically of (Christian) justification.’ The feminity stance makes our justification a proper Bride of the Righteous Lamb, who has sworn the oath of “I will never leave nor forsake thee.” Most definitely, our life, as His mystical body on terra firma, has its locale majestically in Christ, the Second Member of the Godhead. “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory,” so says the word of God in Colossians 3:4, where ‘life’ is zoe, ‘God’s kind of life.’ The life of this new species cannot be lost, having its location in Christ, who continually takes care of it: for it is His own life! Amen!

What does it say in Colossians 3:3? It reveals what the spiritual baptism does. “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” “Why,” if any should ask, “will God hide us doubly in Him and in Christ?” Eternal security! That is the answer. God would not trust any other but Him -Jesus. He does not want another careless blunder from an egregious stupidity displayed by the first Adam. “In him was life; and the life was the light of men” [John 1:4].

“In him was life; and the life was the light of men”

God made the absolutely best choice when He chose Jesus. He, most definitely, chose Himself when He chose to hide us in Jesus. Is Jesus not Emmanuel? “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out.”  God did all of these marvellous deeds to ensure our eternal safety, knowing fully well that we, as free moral agents could disrupt His ineffable plan of salvation. We, as the new spiritual species, have, therefore, become too priceless; bought with the invaluable sinless blood of the Lamb of Jehovah.

HIS ASCENSION ENGENDERED OUR FUTURE RAPTUROUS ASCENSION

1Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” Amen. What is ‘chosen’? It is eklektos (ek-lek-tos’): ‘select; by implication favorite.’ What one does with and for a favourite belonging is what God does for and with us. When you have to discipline your body do you destroy it for whatever reason? I believe not. ‘Generation’ is genos (ghen’-os) meaning: ‘kindred or offspring.’ Christians are not just another race of people, we are so close to Him, the Most High, as closer as His next of kin. ‘Nation’ is ethnos (eth’-nos): ‘a race (as of the same habit), that is, a tribe.’

Get born again and be counted among the new species of humanity, say this prayer with all your heart, meaning it:

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”

CATHOLICISM AND MARY (X)

Outer piety that supports scriptural vitiation!

(…continued from part nine…)

(X)          A cursory look at these Catholic priests, Bishops and Cardinals no doubt whips up a glaring piety. The thing is: among the several enthroned dead Popes, how many of them will be accorded seats of thrones with the twenty-four elders around the celestial throne of the Majesty? Having served the heinous inclinations of Satanism so willingly, would they have any place before the thrice holy God? Christians do ask me, totally confused at these things, “Do they know or realize what they’re doing?” My answer has always been, “Most definitely they do!” They work in cahoots with the designs of Satanism which culminates in the eventual installation of the Antichrist. You have to be born again to be a partaker of celestial bliss, right? Does Catholicism make this John 3:3 didacticism a matter of soteriological reality? Catholicism would rather glorify Mariology than make Romans 10:9-10 the main focal point of God’s Church business.

Christ’s or Antichrist’s vicegerent?

They know what they are doing, hence, there is no forgiveness for them when Christ comes. Every pope sits on a throne. Why? Each pope sees himself as a viceroy of the Lord Jesus, who clearly states, “……My kingdom is not of this world……” [John 18:36]. The word ‘world’ in the Greek is kosmos (kos’-mos) ‘1. orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration 2. (by implication) the world including its inhabitants.’ What Satan did immediately he became the ‘god of this world’ is to rearrange, redefine the world he had won for his nefarious dream. Jesus is not part of this arrangement. He knew He was coming back to right all these evil wrong doings of Satanism. The regent is the Church, His mystical body. Since no pope is Christ’s regent, they, each one of them, sits in place of the Antichrist, who will rule the world. And it is for the same reason Catholic Church sponsored the so called ‘Christian War’. We know that the only one that Christ, with His Church, will eventually fight is against none other than Satan’s son, the Antichrist, the son of perdition.

Ask yourself what on earth will goad a Pope to kneel or bow before the statue of Mary in prayer? Why should the chant of “Hail Mary” be so prominent than the worship of Jesus? The use of the rosary, is it not superfluity of the naughtiness of vain repetition, as warned by the Lord Himself? With an uncanny ineffability of pride, Catholics religiously brandish an unscriptural rosary.

Saint Bernard got his Marian shot of milk!

Another story says Catholic Mary exposed her breast to Saint Bernard, and shot milk into his eye. Presently, people say, while receiving milk from the heavenly Mother, Saint Bernard was initiated into supreme consciousness and adopted as the son of God and Mary. The more medieval wording was that Mary filled him with all divine graces and purified all his sins. Did Mary have to die to perform such deeds of divinity? There is not one scriptural record of Mary’s power of initiation into any ecumenical assistance. The Jerusalem Church did not pray to the Madonna. Mary did not utter one word of prophecy or an encouragement to the nascent Church during the Upper Room inauguration. It was Peter who spoke, having been reinstated as an Apostle of the expected Church. Where was Mary at the first ever Church Council of Jerusalem, found in The Book of Acts Of Apostles 15:1-21, to iron out the Church doctrine? It was James, the biological brother of Jesus and the pastor of the Jerusalem Church who made the final ecumenical speech. None heard of Mary.

Catholic saint worship

 Catholic Saint Worship

An egregious uncouthness of Scripture vitiation establishes the proclivous authentication of Catholicism. Her wanton disregard for God’s protocol is evidenced by the proclivous unsupportive canonical additions. In year 995 AD, Pope John XV spoke ex cathedra on the canonization of dead saints. Quite inconformity with Romans 1:7, which reads, “To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.” The very second you become born again you are a saint of Jesus. The word ‘saint,’ hagios, (hag’-ee-os) in Greek, means: ‘sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated).’ The reason is quite simple in that YAHWEH TSIDQENUW, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS of Jeremiah 23:6 is actually the Christ as stated in Philippians 3:9. Colossians 3:4 says, “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” The recipients of Romans 1:7 were Christians who were still alive on terra firma! “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints…… [1Corinthians 1:2].

I DON’T WANT TO MISS HEAVEN! (I)

the-heavenly-throne

A throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne

It is such a displeasure to behold the exigent cry the followers of Christ exhibit concerning heaven. “O! I must make it to heaven. Arrhh! I don’t want to lose heavenly citizenship, Holy Spirit please help my spiritual infirmity.” And they, quite unbelievably, profess to be God’s own begotten Christians when asked, “Are you born again?”

Imagine the disciples of Jesus querulously doubting a place for them in heaven, even after Jesus had breathed the breath of the Holy Ghost on them and had instructed them to tarry in Jerusalem until they were empowered. Is it not of truth that, “My people perish for lack of the knowledge?” They are unquestionably afraid of losing their salvation.

heaven4

In my stupefaction I have always asked, “How did you get born again?” A truly born again Christian will always answer, “I received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.” Good. Well said. “How much did you have to pay and how did you catalyze this new birth?” The truthful answer is, “Well….nothing.” It should be clear to all and sundry that the architect who designed the foundation and the eventual erection of the edifice is the one who can take the best care of the building. Henry Ford, no doubt, is the best person to talk to concerning your Ford car.

Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our lives, is the only One who can preserve the soteriological rebirth of our spiritual lives. He perfected the sanguineous Calvary rituals. And all that is expected from an individual is just to believe. “For God so loved the world……..whosoever believeth in him…..perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

The word ‘loved’ is agapaō (ag-ap-ah’-o): Perhaps from ἄγαν agan (much); ‘to love (in a social or moral sense).’ It is the verb form of agapē (ag-ah’-pay) which is: ‘affection or benevolence; specifically (plural) a love feast.’ It can only be this, unconditional, kind of love that the Divinity must employ to wash away all our iniquitous inclinations. Jesus paid the price. He proved His magnanimity with, “It is finished.” The perfect tense ‘finished’ is: teleō (tel-eh’-o): ‘to end, that is, complete, execute, conclude, discharge (a debt) fulfil i.e. to pay; of tribute.’

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

One of the fear of losing God’s salvation is based on righteousness, which has slipped from the hands of man. How can you forget so easily, that one of the names of our God is Jehovah Tsidkenu: The LORD our righteousness? The righteousness is not our own; He wraps us in His own righteousness, making us righteous as well. “In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” [Jeremiah 23:6].

1Corinthians

The epithetic ‘THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS’ in Hebrew is: yehôvâh tsidqênû (ye-ho-vaw’ tsid-kay’-noo) Strong’s Definition: From Jehovah and tsedeq (tseh’-dek) with pronominal suffix; Jehovah (is) our right; Jehovah-Tsidkenu, a symbolical epithet of the Messiah and of Jerusalem.’ Tsedeq (tseh’-dek) means ‘the right (natural, moral or legal); also (abstractly) equity or (figuratively) prosperity.’  Jehovah means: I AM THAT I AM or the self-existing God (One who iexists by His own power). This LORD is none other than ‘The BRANCH’ of the preceding verse. This is Jesus.

Colossians 3-4 Christ Our Life-golden

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” [Colossians 3:3-4]. The word ‘hid’ is kruptō (kroop’-to) to conceal (properly by covering).’  The righteousness that marks us out as Christians is veritably a clothing and Jesus is essentially the covering. We do not have in our possession any inherent righteousness. And the reality on the scriptural ground is that only this same Jesus has the capability of the competence to keep us in this state of Godly righteousness. We have the same life as Jesus for we are, in the strictest sense, in this righteous journey together for it says that: “Christ, who is our life.” Amen.

My five-part post titled, ”WHY GO ARMINIANISTIC SOTERIOLOGY” http://wp.me/p5iz2f-1H  16 Mar 2015  explores in details why no true born again will ever go to hell, please do read it.
