Adam was not deceived

*4**      The Devil could not conceal his devious intention in Luke 4:5-7. 5) “And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6) And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7) If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.” Note that Jesus did not differ on Lucifer’s claim to the ownership of the cosmos and the dominion of it. Where he was actually taking Jesus was to be ‘worshipped.’

The word ‘worship,’ of verse seven is proskuneo (pros-koo-neh’-o) ‘1. to fawn or crouch to 2. to fall face down (prostrate) in adoration 3. a physical act of lowering oneself in humble submission with an attitude of utmost adoration or respect.’ Please, do try to carry out some research on the richest people of this world and you will find out that they, the very richest, are quite satanic. Lucifer, the god of mammonism, did give it to them! They have done the proskuneo before him, who desires it more than anything else in his derailed, evil life. Lucifer. Why, you would probably ask, the reason he took Jesus to the high mountain? He simply aped the Most High, which he is not; nothing would please the disillusionment of the warped mentality of Lucifer’s insanity than being worshipped on a mountain.

Luke 4:9 “And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:” The motto of the devil can be found in the scriptures. Jesus says in John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:* He wanted to kill Jesus the same way he killed the first Adam. He wanted to steal from Jesus, the mandate and the anointing to save mankind. To have destroyed Jesus would have truncated His divine business. Satan craved the ownership of the Church. Thank God that Satan failed!

Matthew 26:24 “The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.” Jesus gave Judas Iscariot an ample opportunity to rescind his cruel resolution to sell off his Lord and Master. He even told him the danger of his Satanic embarkment. Judas was as stiffnecked as Lucifer, his spiritual father.

In conclusion, we see the reenactment of Eden intrigue in the garden of Gethsemane. Judas acted the Eden ophidian role of Satanism; he came to steal, to kill and to destroy. The same way God used Adam as an entrapment to sentence the masquerading Lucifer, so He used the villainous machination of Judas to engender the passion of the Christ, which resulting in the death of the sinless Christ, paved way for His resurrection and by extension, that of His bride, the body of Christ. Amen!

Our minds are playgrounds for the operations of Satanism. He has an unchallenged access to our thinking faculties, where he drops any stupid notion that comes to him. It is this same thought realm, of mankind, he has continued to tread from Adam’s days to the future day of his incarceration. Satan will do anything to deprave us of the copious bestowal of our Christlike virtues. Keep away from satanic deception. Amen!

Get Jesus initiated by getting born again: pray this prayer, believing it with all your heart. Say, Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!” (The Conclusion)

(…continued from part 1…)                                                                                                   *2*   Household is the church where the altar call is given so much time as fifteen or more minutes for converts to make up their minds. I have heard pastors around the world and I do know that what Chris Okotie teaches is very difficult to surpass. This great man of God refuses to plant sister churches. His reasons? It is first and foremost not scriptural. He will be playing the Holy Spirit’s role -quite usurpative. He will have to appoint pastors; which is only by divine appointment (Ephesians 4:10-11). This man will not do anything which does not conform to scriptural verity.

Nobody’s tithes or offerings are recorded. I remember attending a church and when I gave the man in charge of the offertory my money and told him, “This is my tithe,” and he asked me to get my tithe card and he heard my answer of, “I don’t have,” I saw him almost agitated to perspiring. I had to wait for a card to be provided for me with my name and address on it and after my contributed amount was duly entered could he receive the said tithe from my hand! In Household, even your pledged money goes into the same offering bag as the one in which you put your voluntary offering and tithes.

The Preacher, in a Wednesday service.

The Pastor of Household of God is of the understanding that whatever you bring to church is unto the Lord and if HE has acknowledged your pious gesture, then it is settled. When the altar call is consummated, the Reverend will tell the nascent converts among other things, “If you like our Church, we invite you to be part of what we are doing; but if for any reason you cannot come here, talk to Jesus and He’ll lead you to another Church where you’ll be comfortable, but you must go to Church.” I do not know how many pastors will continue to say this to every Sunday and Wednesday new converts. Very few you will say this, if there is any. Their perceptive stance drums it too loudly and clearly into the core of their beings that the church is their personal investment. Definitely not the Okotie, my Pastor that I have seen for decades.

A woman, according to Reverend Chris Okotie, during the annual sensitizing teachings that gets us ready for the blessing pact we enter into with the Lord, brought the documents of her landed property to redeem her pledge. He said he told her that as an old widow whose children would be expecting to use the land in future it was better she kept the property, at least for her children’s use since neither him, the Pastor, nor the Church needed the land. This is sheer display of the virtue of moral rectitude. Rev. Okotie, who is guiltless of being under the dominion of cupidity can be trusted. The woman went home with her property.

The blessing pact enables Householders to enter into a business pact with the Lord, based on scriptural promises of God that whatever we ask of Him in faith and doubting not, He will do it. We give the amount pledged even before our requests concretize, proving our level of faith. This is Household and the grand depiction of faith in Him who hath brought us out of the darkness into His marvellous light. Hallelujah!

June celebrants of Household of God Church

Many people have censurably clothed Household and her pastoral headship of not seeing miraculous deeds going on in the Church. In fact, about a year of my membership, an HOD of the Church agreed, confiding in me, with the public criticism. In my bewilderment I showed him how wrong he was. The number one miracle that is constantly wrought in Rev Chris Okotie’s Household Of God is that people get born again every blessed week! They that were headed to an everlasting hellish confinement have heard the undiluted logos and by the Holy Spirit’s energizing, a simple prayer of salvation is rendered from the heart and immediately a volte-face to heavenly citizenship is engendered! Miracle!

In the serious worship of Jesus

A very pulchritudinous woman with an envious job was without a husband for years. On the day of her testimony in a church service she said, “Pastor, the song you taught us, ‘Settle Me’ had been my prayer to the Lord.” Overwhelmed, the beautiful woman, Sister Yemisi  continued, “Pastor, look at the fine, nice, rich and handsome man the Lord has given me,” pointing at the evident truth, the young gentleman, Sina, her husband standing by her side. Today, years past, they are blessed with two wonderful, teenage boys.

Celebration before the Lord Jesus.

What about the ophthalmologist, Sister Omena, a very nice looking woman, who did everything, went everywhere just to have her matrix serve as the receptacle for which it was created: the gestation of foetus. It has served billions of births, so why not her? When she testified of the Lord’s miracle she had been looking for the fruit of the womb for twelve, painstaking years. The good news? She had not come to thank God expecting a biological issue. She had come before the Lord God Almighty to inform Householders that her womb received and gave birth to a set of twin girls. Those lovely girls, as at this day, are in a secondary school.

Get born again by praying this prayer with all your heart and truthfully: Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins and You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I receive Him as my Lord and my Saviour. A throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne

It is such a displeasure to behold the exigent cry the followers of Christ exhibit concerning heaven. “O! I must make it to heaven. Arrhh! I don’t want to lose heavenly citizenship, Holy Spirit please help my spiritual infirmity.” And they, quite unbelievably, profess to be God’s own begotten Christians when asked, “Are you born again?”

Imagine the disciples of Jesus querulously doubting a place for them in heaven, even after Jesus had breathed the breath of the Holy Ghost on them and had instructed them to tarry in Jerusalem until they were empowered. Is it not of truth that, “My people perish for lack of the knowledge?” They are unquestionably afraid of losing their salvation.

In my stupefaction I have always asked, “How did you get born again?” A truly born again Christian will always answer, “I received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.” Good. Well said. “How much did you have to pay and how did you catalyze this new birth?” The truthful answer is, “Well….nothing.” It should be clear to all and sundry that the architect who designed the foundation and the eventual erection of the edifice is the one who can take the best care of the building. Henry Ford, no doubt, is the best person to talk to concerning your Ford car.

Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our lives, is the only One who can preserve the soteriological rebirth of our spiritual lives. He perfected the sanguineous Calvary rituals. And all that is expected from an individual is just to believe. “For God so loved the world……..whosoever believeth in him…..perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

The word ‘loved’ is agapaō (ag-ap-ah’-o): Perhaps from ἄγαν agan (much); ‘to love (in a social or moral sense).’ It is the verb form of agapē (ag-ah’-pay) which is: ‘affection or benevolence; specifically (plural) a love feast.’ It can only be this, unconditional, kind of love that the Divinity must employ to wash away all our iniquitous inclinations. Jesus paid the price. He proved His magnanimity with, “It is finished.” The perfect tense ‘finished’ is: teleō (tel-eh’-o): ‘to end, that is, complete, execute, conclude, discharge (a debt) fulfil i.e. to pay; of tribute.’

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

One of the fear of losing God’s salvation is based on righteousness, which has slipped from the hands of man. How can you forget so easily, that one of the names of our God is Jehovah Tsidkenu: The LORD our righteousness? The righteousness is not our own; He wraps us in His own righteousness, making us righteous as well. “In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” [Jeremiah 23:6].

The epithetic ‘THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS’ in Hebrew is: yehôvâh tsidqênû (ye-ho-vaw’ tsid-kay’-noo) Strong’s Definition: From Jehovah and tsedeq (tseh’-dek) with pronominal suffix; Jehovah (is) our right; Jehovah-Tsidkenu, a symbolical epithet of the Messiah and of Jerusalem.’ Tsedeq (tseh’-dek) means ‘the right (natural, moral or legal); also (abstractly) equity or (figuratively) prosperity.’  Jehovah means: I AM THAT I AM or the self-existing God (One who iexists by His own power). This LORD is none other than ‘The BRANCH’ of the preceding verse. This is Jesus.

Colossians 3-4 Christ Our Life-golden

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” [Colossians 3:3-4]. The word ‘hid’ is kruptō (kroop’-to) to conceal (properly by covering).’  The righteousness that marks us out as Christians is veritably a clothing and Jesus is essentially the covering. We do not have in our possession any inherent righteousness. And the reality on the scriptural ground is that only this same Jesus has the capability of the competence to keep us in this state of Godly righteousness. We have the same life as Jesus for we are, in the strictest sense, in this righteous journey together for it says that: “Christ, who is our life.” Amen.

Get Jesus Involved (1)

All you need to do is to get Jesus involved in any boisterous satanic bullying and the gargantuan frightening opponent will be nothing more than a ranting of a braggadocio.

The Bible says that “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). The word ‘standard’ in Hebrew is nûs (noos) ‘to flit, that is, vanish away (subside, escape; causatively chase, impel, deliver).’ When Abraham believed in the LORD, hoping against hope for a child, it was Jesus Christ that he actually involved in that historical show of faith. And when the trial of all trials came knocking at the door of his faith he still believed God to do something for he said, “…..My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together” [Gen 22:8].

How do I know it is Christ? Abraham spoke face to face with the epiphany of the LORD God in Genesis 18:1, 7, 13, 17-33. God, the Father, will never vacate the celestial throne. The only visible Member of the Godhead can be none other than Jesus Christ. Amen.

It was Jesus Christ who followed the exodus of the Israelites that gave Moses the heroic gutsiness to chart an unheard-of path in the Red Sea which brought the raging, saline water at attention! When they were thirsty Christ stood on the torridity of a rock to provide abundance of the needed liquid to everyone’s satiation.

Samson in the Kingstone Graphic Bible

For the impossible to become a possibility, involve Jesus.

In the book of Judges 13:18 we read of an event which was a precursor to the birth of Samson, “And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?” Manoah had involved Jesus when he prayed to God for a son. The epithet ‘angel of the LORD’ is, in many cases, the epiphany of the unseen Jehovah. This is the preincarnate manifestation of Christ Jesus. He said HIS name is ‘secret’ which in Hebrew is pil’ı̂y or pâlı̂y’ (pil-ee’) meaning: ‘wonderful, remarkable, incomprehensible, extraordinary.’ Who does the oracular afflatus call ‘wonderful’? It is the expected Messiah of Isaiah 9:6. It is Jesus the Christ. As many times Samson got Jesus involved he brought the extortionate belligerency of the enmity of the Philistines to their knees.

“…even the devils are subject unto us through thy name

The disciples of Jesus followed the ascribed due process of an operation Jesus’ involvement, the result of which was captured in Luke 10:17, “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” Jesus is the reason for their spiritual feat in verse 18, “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Michael led the angelic counter force, in the name of Christ, the Creator, against the first putsch by Lucifer, the Devil. On the cross of Calvary, Satan’s power went into enervation for as many who would invoke the involvement of Jesus in their vexatious predicaments.

2. the church prayed

They involved Jesus on behalf of Peter

What things have the evil ones expropriated from your ownership? The kind of which he did when he came to the nascent Church unawares and plucked off James. Take your authorized stand in the same fashion as the Church, when she began to call on the name of Jesus in Acts 12:5, “….but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”  What type of prayer was offered by the church? It is called proseuchē (pros-yoo-khay’): ‘prayer addressed to God.’ Proseuchē comes from another word, proseuchomai (pros-yoo’-khom-ahee) ‘to pray to God, that is, supplicate, worship.’ Proseuchē  calls for supplication which gives a picture of an appeal from someone to a familiar person. Proseuchomai comes two words: pros (pros) ‘to the advantage of; at, near, by’ and euchomai (yoo’-khom-ahee) ‘to pray to God; to wish.’

In supplication they told God how they grew lethargic and lost James, a pillar giant of His ministry and after apologising made a proseuchē  unto God for a miraculous release of another giant of a pillar in the person of Peter. We understand that anyone who dared to free Peter would have had to face a treasonous charge, no doubt. But how do you slam a treasonable offence on the angel of Jesus, the Governor of the nations? Do not wait until you are dispossessed of something priceless. If the Church had not brought Jesus into the spiritual fray Peter would have been lost, probably, when he was most needed.

Use your faith, like the woman with the issue of blood, to involve Jesus.

The Woman with the issue of blood was trammelled by the economy of the covenant of the old testamentary order. A woman having her periodical flow must not go near an ecumenical person or the temple. She heard of the liberating Jesus and wasted no time involving Him. And the emaciating shame of twelve, sanguinary years came to a miraculous end. Just like that! She brought Jesus into her picture when she uttered the faith filled, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.  Two words stand out here: touch & whole. ‘Touch,’ in the Greek is haptomai (hap’-tom-ai) ‘(properly) to attach oneself to, i.e. to touch (in many implied relations).’ Sozo (sode’-zo) is the Greek for ‘whole’ and it means: ‘to save, i.e. deliver or protect.’ Only Jesus can save, deliver and protect. It was the involving ‘touch’ which led to her salvation.

The LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning

Did Daniel die in the ruinous den of ferocious lions? No! So, don’t compromise.

He is an exceptionally great sportsperson. This guy who has won so many laurels has, for so many occasions, been invited to join the secret cults of masonry but had for that many times declined. His sole reason being, “I’m already in the secret cult of JESUS.” As a Christian he believes he is 110,000% wholly Jesus’, therefore, there, ostensibly, is no room left to join another cult.

Anytime he is poised to score a good point an invisible dart will just fly towards his direction to maim him. An angel sends the dart off his direction, into the belly of the ground. There were times when the satanic weapons were sent back to the evil culprits, maiming or sniffing out their lives outright. Tongues begin to wag à la press publications. Little did they know that Psalm 91:5, “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;” was at work from the Lord whom this great footballer confesses as his Lord and Saviour.

For I know that my redeemer liveth,” he said, in Job 19:25

He was Abrahamic resolute, walking the walk side by side his Jehovah. He would not trade-off his covenantal position with Jehovah for anything. In the face of aggravating vicissitudinary turns of life he becomes the philosophical Job in equanimity. Of course she is a Mary who, in expectation of her Lord’s demand, kept herself from youthful concupiscent inclination, thereby, making her matrix available for the LORD’s use.

He asked himself what Joseph’s stance would be if he were an athlete and found out, from the scriptures, that he would certainly have stuck to his uncompromising integrity. Hear an uncompromising Joseph in Genesis 39:9, “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Emphasis mine).

Yes, David walked a route meant for a dastard when he ordered the assassination of Uriah, the husband of Bathsheba, whom he was committing adultery with, but this same David always knew how to come back to the Father and he never forsook the worship of Jehovah all the days of his historic life; and in this wise he trod the path of David.

Abraham, the father of faith.

“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect” [Gen 17:1]. The verb ‘walk,’ is hâlak (haw-lak’): ‘to walk (in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively), lifestyle.’ Abraham chose a lifestyle that put a smile on the divine countenance of Jehovah. ‘Perfect’ is tâmı̂ym (taw-meem’): ‘entire (literally, figuratively or morally); also (as noun) integrity, truth.’ Abraham’s integrity remained in one piece; he died at an eld of one hundred and seventy-five years, having run an enviable race.

The book of Job 2:9-10 reads, 9) “Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. 10) But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. The word ‘integrity,’ tûmmâh (toom-maw’) means, ‘innocence.’

Job’s ‘no compromise’ stand paid off. Amen.

Job’s innocence and obdurate fidelity earned him one of the biggest earthly biblical rewards. “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before” [Job 42:10]. This, no doubt, made him the richest man on earth! Your story can end so beautifully like Job’s: “Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold. 12) So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. 13) He had also seven sons and three daughters. 14) And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch. 15) And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. 16) After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations” [Job 42:10-16].

My advice is, “Don’t compromise.”

It is a well-known fact that Job was, personally, guiltless of the predicament he found himself. He faced his trials with a certain equanimity. Tribulations are good for us. They teach us how to wear the fitting robe of patience. It is getting worse these days after six thousand years of Adam’s unfortunate act that has plunged man into this quaggy state of depravity. Knowing fully well that God has imbued every individual with the spirit of equanimity, it is quite expedient for him to exploit this virtue to his own advantage when he gets ambushed in a trial. It will always rear up its head: trial.

“How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

The no-compromise person remembers Joshua and Deborah. Joshua’s strength is predicated on, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” [Joshua 1:8].

01a057c39acf94fa60793faa03f6582d                                        Cain, you did ask for it, didn’t you?

(continued from part three)   It goes beyond a case of questioning His authority, you are actually insulting Jehovah when you try to play God. The excellence of God’s personage is so salient that the creation of man must truly be godlike in order not to marginalize His creative prowess. To Adam God imputed free moral agency.

God did brief Adam when he was made the lord of the earth. In the course of bringing her to Adam, God would, no doubt, have briefed the woman on her ‘help meet for him’ role. While Adam was ‘to dress and to keep’ the Garden, the woman was to serve as a ‘help meet.’ ‘Dress’ is ‛âbad (aw-bad’) ‘to work (in any sense); by implication to serve, till, (causatively) enslave, etc.’ ‘Help meet’ in Hebrew, is ‛êzer (ay’-zer): ‘aid;’ this word comes from ‛âzar (aw-zar’): ‘to surround, that is, protect or aid.’

1372004275_Forbidden fruit (always the best)

Man was made a free moral agent

The woman that God brought was a bodyguard; whose job was to support her husband by agreeing with him, who is the lord, priest and the prophet of Eden and consequently the earth. They were absolutely responsible for their action or inaction. It was a mark of gross perfidy when Cain defiantly asked, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” These words were the proof of an apodeictic apostasy. The word ‘keeper’ is shâmar (shaw-mar’): ‘properly to hedge about (as with thorns), that is, guard; generally to protect, attend to, etc.’ Shâmar is the same word God used when He told Adam to ‘keep’ the Garden. The eternally uprightness of God’s word of instruction became despicable to Cain’s warped perception. “I don’t need Your instructions, I’ll rather protect myself,” were the words of Cain. God allowed him to stray into oblivion. Cain was tested. He failed.

As many ladies lived unaccompanied by the word of God, that so many got mesmerized by the attractiveness of the cruel, fallen angels of Lucifer. The consequence of free moral agency misapplication. God desires to populate the creation with intelligent, free moral agents. You, as an individual, most definitely know what is appropriate. You desire good things and acquire those things. There are situations we detest. We go to all extent to ensure their impossibility. The things we deprecate, unfortunately, are the things many humans mete out to others. Egotism. Cupidity. Man’s pretensions are quite alarming.

A robot isn’t a free moral agent, but the offspring of Adam is.

A robot cannot pretend to be anything else. It is programmed for its activities. God wants beings who can receive anointing for deification. Those who, willingly, will decide to follow God’s will are the creatures of His dream. Fall short of His dream and you have become a daydreamer. Any desire outside Christ is a falsehood of reverie. The tragedy is that too many lack the righteousness of Jesus.

If any will do what will be pleasing unto the Lord, he must meditate on, and comply with Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” The present continuous ‘renewing’ is anakainōsis (an-ak-ah’-ee-no-sis) ‘renovation, complete change for the better;’ while ‘transformed’ is metamorphoō (met-am-or-fo’-o) ‘to transform (literally or figuratively “metamorphose”).’

Satan will most certainly run evil thoughts through your mind. A design to make you place the onus of your predicament on God. What Job said in Job 1:21, “….the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD;” is a scriptural anomaly. Was it not Satan who did evil to him? God does not do evil. HE should never be castigated for any misfortune. In James 1:13-27; verses 13-14 read: 13) “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” I will always be responsible for all my actions, and you are to take the full responsibility for whatever happens to you.

Curse God and die,” his wife ill advised.

I have always made sure I never, for any reason, fling an iota of blame at God for any misfortune I find myself in. ‘Tempted’ is the Greek word peirazō (pi-rad’-zo) ‘to test (objectively), that is, endeavor, scrutinize, entice, discipline.’ Put contextually, ‘tempted’ has to do with ‘enticement to sin,’ going by the fact that peirazō as temptation has two grand meanings, ‘solicitation to sin, and trial from providential situation or circumstances.’

God will never be an accomplice to an evil act of sin. The words ‘drawn away’ is exelkō (ex-el’-ko). This is what Thayer Definition says: ‘to draw out, metaphorically: lure forth: in hunting and fishing as game is lured from its hiding place, so man by lure is allured from the safety of self-restraint to sin.’ In James 1:14, the language of the hunting is transferred to the seduction of a harlot.’ From Strong’s Definition: ‘to drag forth, that is, (figuratively) to entice (to sin).’ Sincerely speaking, this is where the generality of mankind is guilty.

At the end of all these trials those who decide to use their free moral agency Christ-like will be deified. Everywhere on earth, it will be god here god there. God, god, god of deified man, gloriously everywhere! Amen.      (…to be concluded…)

Save for the one that is reeled from the Book, he knows of no other wisdom. His very life is run on the tenets of the scripture, which he adores from the core of his existence. The Church…! Ah…! His second home! To the church he is headed every period of worship or service, hooked on it as of an opium. As glad as David he loves to be in the assemblage. Mention, “Jesus” and you want to hit your pinnae with a most grandiloquent effusions of a quintessential order, the type that pours forth from the anointed lips of Rev. Chris Okotie or you want to see Eva Zikenah, a great praise and worship leader, whose love for Jesus is so evincive by her mannerism clutching display to her chest, of her Lord, in so much adorable stance.

In the stream of vascular proclivity of crimson fluid runs the Christian’s desire to please other people time and again. The strength of pecuniary posit is wielded to be of service to the needy as evinced by the obvious inclination of Rev. Chris Okotie, Leke Alder and Kehinde Balepo. What else matters when it is time to worship the Lord a la dance? Absolutely nothing, as they become the likes of Bola Olowu (with her professional touch), the true willingness of Taiwo Sanwo and definitely Rev. Chris Okotie! When he opens his vocal cord in praise and worship he is an Oma Ikomi (whose rendition touches the core of souls spiritually), she is the powerful singing prowess of Eva Zikenah; and to leave out the holy prance of Rev. Chris Okotie before the Lord will be a criminality.

The Christian is a reminiscence of the affable duo of Promise James and Linda Okosun, in her show of love, as she makes sure of the new converts’ Church attendance to and fro is marked by such a convenience that an uncouth mind would want to think probably has an undisclosed, dirty motive. Is it a wrong act? Then, in the-no-nonsense duo, you will see her in the person of Gloria Emmanuel or him in Chuks Nwoko, fighting tooth and nail to prove the wrongness of an issue. It is in the blood of a Christian to take good care of things, like Ruth Akpobaro, Biola Kolapo (the one I call ubiquitous) and Ruth Gbolahan. An H.O. is of a Christian who will rather die than live a life of no usefulness to fellow humanity. Of a Christian it is, to see things going on well or make the loudest Johannine noise about a king’s choice of sinful connubiality.

Pastor Chris Okotie

Endowed with the mind of Christ, his perception of global phenomena runs a divergent course to the global tradition. Conscientious sex between unmarried adults is worldly expected hence, okay, but not so to this one of a Christian breed. White or any hue of a lie is a spiritual aberrancy, unlike what the global adherence accepts. The taboo that tags the vulgarity of certain words have been shamefully expunged, becoming words of social entertainment in movies and championed by Hollywood, which has succeeded in turning actresses into glorified prostitutes. Very soon the world will be looking for people of integrity, then he will be most sought after! He has the solution to world problems only if the world’s system is ready to ask for his service. When he testifies of miraculous occurrences it is never of magic but of a genuine act of God’s power. His heart is a spring of wisdom, revealing the treasures therefrom, when he quotes the Bible. He is a man of peace, having sat under the tutelage of the Prince of peace, the Lord of lords and the King of kings.

Thrice in scripture the appellation runs forth from the ink of divinely influenced writers. If the jeering stance of its Antioch first time of Acts 11:26 seems an improper designate, and can be said to have a corroboration in the 26th chapter of the 28th verse, 1Peter 4:16 allays the dread of a portending fear of ‘Christian’ label. There is a fourth between-the-lines reading of ‘Christian’ in Matthew 28:19. Some church going people dislike being labelled Christians as Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary exegetes on Acts 11:26, “The disciples were called CHRISTIANS first in Antioch.” This name originated not within, but without, the Church; not with their Jewish enemies, by whom they were styled “Nazarenes” (Ac 24:5), but with the heathen in Antioch, and (as the form of the word shows) with the Romans, not the Greeks there [OLSHAUSEN]. It was not at first used in a good sense (as Act 26:28; 1Pe 4:16 show), though hardly framed out of contempt (as DE WETTE, BAUMGARTEN, c.) but as it was a noble testimony to the light in which the Church regarded Christ—honoring Him as their only Lord and Saviour, dwelling continually on His name, and glorying in it—so it was felt to be too apposite and beautiful to be allowed to die.”

The same commentary commentates on 1Peter 4:16, “a Christian—the name given in contempt first at Antioch. Act 11:26; Act 26:28; the only three places where the term occurs. At first believers had no distinctive name, but were called among themselves “brethren,” Ac 6:3; “disciples,” Act 6:1; “those of the way,” Act 9:2; “saints,” Rom 1:7; by the Jews (who denied that Jesus was the CHRIST, and so would never originate the name Christian), in contempt, “Nazarenes.” At Antioch, where first idolatrous Gentiles (Cornelius, Act 10:1; Act 10:2), was not an idolater, but a proselyte) were converted, and wide missionary work began, they could be no longer looked on as a Jewish sect, and so the Gentiles designated them by the new name “Christians.” The rise of the new name marked a new epoch in the Church’s life, a new stage of its development, namely, its missions to the Gentiles. The idle and witty people of Antioch, we know from heathen writers, were famous for inventing nicknames. The date of this Epistle must have been when this had become the generally recognized designation among Gentiles (it is never applied by Christians to each other, as it was in after ages—an undesigned proof that the New Testament was composed when it professes), and when the name exposed one to reproach and suffering, though not seemingly as yet to systematic persecution. let him not be ashamed — though the world is ashamed of shame. To suffer for one’s own faults is no honor (1Pe 4:15; 1Pe 2:20), — for Christ, is no shame (1Pe 4:14; 1Pe 3:13).”

Long before the Antioch experience had the Lord called us Christians in Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations……” The verb ‘teach,’ in Greek is matheteuo (math-ayt-yoo’-o): ‘(intransitively) to become a pupil; (transitively) to disciple, i.e. enrol as scholar.’ The term Christian in the above verses is Christianos (khris-tee-an-os’) 1. (properly, only of the redeemed) a kinsman (relative by blood) of the Anointed-One (the Messiah, also called Christ); 2. (figuratively, as understood by the nations) followers of the teachings of Christ; 3. (improperly, though very common) a person who identifies himself as a Christian only because he does not identify with another religion; 4. (transliterated) “Christian.” Now if ‘teach’ means ‘to disciple’ and a Christian is a disciple, it follows that Jesus had already called a believer Christian or ‘Little Christ’ (after His own Name – a privilege, no doubt!). Of what hue of derogation is a Christian coloured, viewing him from his Messianic tutelage?

Maro Daniel, a Facebook friend, would rather be called ‘Jesus’ Bride’ or ‘HIS Branch’ but definitely not a ‘derogatory’ Christian! All I know, from scripture, is that for anyone to do a sprouting from His divine side that one must of essence go through spiritual sanctification. Can you be thus sanctified without experiencing a certain connectivity? This connection will never be unless you, like Matthew and company, are called to follow as disciples. Tell me, how can you be His bride without assuming, like a needy Mary, a sitting posture at the feet of His tutelage? If discipleship is of essence in the spiritual walk with the Lord then why should I be ashamed to be labelled a Christian? H.O. (the author) is so proud to be called a Christian!
